Dearest Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit
Thank You for every blessing You bestow on us! Thank You for Your mercy, grace and everlasting love! You are a wonderful and precious God and I love You very much!
1. This morning I want to pray for divorces in South Africa.
2. 42 % of blacks, 24.8% whites, 18.6% coloured’s and 6 % Indians in South Africa got divorced in 2016 and woman are mostly responsible for filing for divorce! (last statistics available)
3. This is staggering numbers my King, taking into account that most marriages end before ten years!
4. So many children are involved, and get hurt in the process!
5. Oh my King, these numbers are so high, taking into consideration that some couples do not even get married so their relationships are not taken into account.
6. I beg with You to intervene in marriages and to let people realize that divorce is not an option – except in cases where lives are endangered and adultery (according to Your Word).
7. Divorce create bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness and so much pain.
8. Children are used as battling tools between parents to spite each other and to get back at each other.
9. And all of young children learn from the example set to them – if marriage does not work, you can get a divorce!
10. I beg with You to break this vicious circle my King!
11. I plead with You that You will help married couples to rather go for help than to divorce.
12. Oh Lord, please touch all the married couples in South Africa’s hearts, so that we will realize that we made a promise before You when we got married.
13. We cannot break that promise Lord.
14. I beg with You that You will work in the hearts of every South African so that we will realize that marriage is a Holy institution ordained by You!
15. Please help every married couple to realize the 80/20 rule: Maybe you like 80% of what your partner has to offer, but you long for the 20% that he/she does not have. But... when you leave your spouse for the 20% that you are longing for, you might end up missing the 80% your spouse had!
16. Please open every married couple’s eyes so that they will realize that the devil wants to steal, destroy and get us away from heaven.
17. And he uses broken relationships to create hatred and unforgiveness in spouses and children alike.
18. Mark 11: 26 says: But if you do not forgive (YOUR EX HUSBAND/WIFE), neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. (https://biblehub.com/mark/11-26.htm) ((YOUR EX HUSBAND/WIFE/ – added by me),
19. I beg with You that You will help every divorced couple to become quiet before You and forgive their ex-spouses, to set them free in the Name of Jesus and move on.
20. I beg with You that You will help all children that went through a divorce to forgive their father and mother, to decide not to get divorced but to work hard on their relationships.
21. Please heal our country and all its marriages!
22. Please work in the hearts of people that has just decided to get a divorce so that they will reconsider and rather seek Your guidance in their marriage!
23. Oh Lord, I plead with You that You will help every couple in South Africa to start to pray together. (The family that prays together stays together!)
24. Holy Spirit, move through South Africa and touch every married couple’s heart so that we will only listen to You.
25. Destroy the Jezebels in our society and help all of us to realize how precious a healthy marriage is.
26. Thank You that You will move through South Africa and touch every married couple’s heart!
27. Thank You that You will open the eyes of every couple so that they will once again see why they fell in love in the first place.
28. Thank You that You will teach us that marriage is just like a business: what you invest in it you will get out of it!
I ask everything in the mighty Name, blood and Cross of Jesus and I just want to say that I love You very much!
